Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 generation expands its Windows on Arm laptop range with two clear tiers. Snapdragon X2 Elite reaches 18 CPU cores and up to 5.0 GHz on the X2E-96-100, while Snapdragon X2 Plus offers 10-core and 6-core options for thinner and more mainstream systems.
X2 Elite Leads With More Cores
The Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-96-100 combines 18 Oryon CPU cores, 53 MB of cache, LPDDR5x memory, and an 80 TOPS Hexagon NPU. Other X2 Elite SKUs change the frequency, GPU, memory bandwidth, or NPU rating, so the model suffix remains important.
X2 Plus Broadens the Laptop Range
The Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-64-100 provides 10 cores, 34 MB of cache, and an 80 TOPS NPU. The X2P-42-100 reduces the CPU core count to six and cache to 22 MB. That gives manufacturers more room to target battery life, price, and chassis size.
