What Changes Between Snapdragon X And X Plus?

Snapdragon X starts with 8 Oryon CPU cores, 30 MB of total cache, LPDDR5x memory, and a 45 TOPS Hexagon NPU. The Snapdragon X X1-26-100 and X1-26-101 share the same CPU headline, but Qualcomm lists different Adreno GPU part numbers and GPU clocks for the two variants.

Snapdragon X Plus covers a wider range. The Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 is also an 8-core part with 30 MB of cache, but it raises the maximum CPU clock to 3.4 GHz. Higher X Plus models such as the X1P-64-100 move to 10 CPU cores and 42 MB of cache.

Which One Should You Compare First?

Start with Snapdragon X if the laptop is mainly for browser work, documents, streaming, video calls, and long battery life at a lower price. The base platform still has the 45 TOPS NPU required for current Copilot+ PC positioning, so it is not just an older Arm laptop class under a new name.

Start with Snapdragon X Plus if you expect heavier multitasking, more browser tabs, light creative work, or a longer useful life before replacing the laptop. The 10-core X Plus SKUs matter most when the workload can use more CPU threads; the 8-core X Plus parts are closer to a frequency and platform step-up from Snapdragon X.
